Building a No-Code AI Trading Platform for Faster Strategy Testing

Custom Software Development AI/ML Development Cloud Engineering Third-Party Integrations

FiftyFive Technologies developed a no-code AI trading platform for the client, integrating natural language strategy generation, broker APIs, and demo and live environments. Our team delivered custom software, AI/ML integration, and cloud infrastructure, improving strategy testing efficiency by 60% through real-time backtesting.

The Client

Overview

The client is a global strategy management platform that combines AI software, expert coaching, and established methodologies to help enterprises align teams, execute faster, and reach measurable growth outcomes. The client set out to make algorithmic trading accessible to people without a coding background, and partnered with FiftyFive Technologies to design and deliver the platform end to end.

The Need

Challenges

Making algorithmic trading usable for people who cannot write code meant solving two problems at once: interpreting financial intent expressed in everyday language, and running that intent against live market conditions fast enough to be useful. Each requirement carried its own engineering constraint.

  • Non-technical users had no way to build algorithmic trading models, because every existing route to strategy creation assumed programming knowledge. The platform needed to remove code from the workflow entirely without removing control over how a strategy behaves.
  • Stock market terminology does not map cleanly onto general-purpose language models. Instructions involving order types, positions, indicators, and market conditions required domain-specific natural language processing so that a phrase entered by a user resolved to the correct trading action rather than an approximate one.
  • Backtesting had to run in real time under low latency while many users worked on the platform simultaneously. High concurrency and time-sensitive computation pulled in opposite directions, and the execution layer had to hold both.
  • User queries needed instant, context-specific answers rather than generic responses. Answering a question about a strategy, an instrument, or a platform behaviour meant retrieving the right supporting knowledge at the moment of the request.
  • The backend had to be scalable and fault-tolerant. Trading activity concentrates around market events, so the infrastructure needed to absorb traffic spikes without degrading performance or interrupting sessions in progress.
Our Approach

Solution

FiftyFive Technologies built an AI-powered trading assistant that sits between the user's intent and the market. A user describes a strategy in natural language; the platform interprets it, generates the corresponding logic, tests it against historical data, and — once the user is satisfied — routes it to a connected broker for execution. A dedicated FiftyFive engineering team delivered the full stack, covering application development, AI/ML integration, cloud deployment, and third-party connectivity. The result is a platform where the barrier to algorithmic trading is the ability to describe a strategy, not the ability to code it.

Natural language strategy generation

FiftyFive integrated GPT-4o to convert plain-language descriptions into automated trading strategies, and paired it with RASA NLU trained on stock market vocabulary so that domain terms resolve accurately.

  • GPT-4o handles automated strategy generation from user input.
  • RASA NLU interprets domain-specific stock market queries.
  • The combination separates general language understanding from financial intent recognition, so trading terminology is handled by a component built for it.

Instant, context-aware query resolution

To answer user questions with platform- and market-specific accuracy rather than generic model output, FiftyFive applied Retrieval-Augmented Generation backed by a vector database.

  • RAG retrieves relevant knowledge at query time.
  • A vector database supports instant lookup across the knowledge base.
  • Responses are grounded in retrieved context, which keeps answers specific to the question asked.

Real-time backtesting engine

The platform includes a backtesting engine that runs strategies against market data in real time, supported by a library of pre-configured strategies for users who prefer a starting point over a blank canvas.

  • Real-time backtesting under low-latency conditions.
  • A library of pre-configured strategies available out of the box.
  • Users can evaluate strategy behaviour before committing capital.

Dual-environment deployment

FiftyFive built demo and live environments into the same workflow so users can validate a strategy safely before it touches a real market position.

  • Demo mode for testing strategies without market exposure.
  • Live mode for execution once the user is confident in the strategy.
  • The same strategy moves between environments without being rebuilt.

Scalable cloud infrastructure

The backend was built on Flask and deployed on Amazon EC2, scaled to hold performance during periods of heavy use.

  • Flask framework underpins the trading assistant application.
  • Amazon EC2 deployment supports high availability and low latency.
  • Infrastructure scales to meet concurrent user demand.

Broker integration for live execution

FiftyFive integrated broker APIs so that strategies validated on the platform can be executed in the market without the user moving to a separate system.

  • Broker APIs connect the platform to live trade execution.
  • Strategy creation, testing, and execution stay within one workflow.

FAQs

A no-code algorithmic trading platform lets users create and run automated strategies without programming. Users describe a strategy in plain language, test the generated logic against market data, and execute it through a connected broker.

AI interprets user intent through a language model and maps financial terminology to executable rules. GPT-4o generates strategy logic while RASA NLU resolves stock-market vocabulary to intended trading actions.

Trading terms such as order types, positions, indicators, and market conditions carry precise meanings. Domain-trained NLP helps ensure user instructions produce the intended trade logic instead of approximate interpretations.

Real-time backtesting runs a trading strategy against market data as it is built, allowing users to validate its behaviour before committing capital. This implementation increased strategy-testing efficiency by 60%.

Retrieval-Augmented Generation grounds AI responses in retrieved domain knowledge. A vector database stores relevant content and supplies context at query time for specific answers about strategies, instruments, and platform behaviour.

An AI trading platform can combine a lightweight framework, generative AI, domain-trained NLU, vector retrieval, cloud infrastructure, and broker connectivity. This platform uses Flask, GPT-4o, RASA NLU, RAG, and Amazon EC2.

High-concurrency trading platforms require scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure that absorbs traffic spikes without degrading performance. Amazon EC2 supports availability and low latency during simultaneous backtesting and execution.

Demo and live environments let users validate strategies without market exposure before committing real capital. The same strategy can move from testing to execution without being rebuilt.

Broker APIs connect validated orders with live markets. The integration allows users to create, test, and execute strategies within one workflow rather than moving between separate systems.

FinTech platforms require fault-tolerant infrastructure, secure third-party integrations, controlled execution paths, sustained availability, and low-latency processing because delayed or failed execution can create financial consequences.

Financial technology, investment management, and strategy management platforms benefit from AI-powered automation because it converts complex domain intent into executable workflows without requiring users to be technical specialists.

Building an AI trading platform requires combined AI/ML, cloud engineering, custom software, and financial integration experience. FiftyFive provides dedicated teams across these disciplines through flexible engagement models.
